The Muslim Women Network of Southern California handed out more than 500 free roses at the Irvine Spectrum Carousel Court on Saturday. The event was held to counter misconceptions about Islam.
Each rose had a card attached with a quote from the Prophet Muhammad: “Feed the hungry and visit the sick and free the captive if he is unjustly confined. Assist any person oppressed, whether Muslim or non-Muslim.”
